Stanford Snags 10th Seed

ATHENS, Ga. - The Stanford women's golf team shot a 31-over 319 during the first day of the 43rd annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on Friday.

Friday's format for the event featured 18 holes of stroke play. Those results determined the individual medalist and the seedings for match play competition, which begins Saturday and concludes Sunday.

UCLA (301) topped the leaderboard and will hold the No. 1 seed for match play. Coming in six shots behind UCLA was second-seeded South Carolina. Stanford earned the 10th overall seed.

Windy conditions pushed scores higher than normal, with only one individual breaking par.

Arkansas' Regina Plasencia was the individual low-medalist, carding a 1-under 71 to help the Razorbacks take the third seed.

Lauren Kim paced the Cardinal with a 4-over 76. She was followed by Quirine Eijkenboom (+7) and Mariah Stackhouse (+8). Mariko Tumangan and Casey Danielson shot identical rounds of 12-over.

Kim tied for 11th in the individual race.

Stanford's match play against Alabama will begin Saturday at 9:20 a.m. (ET) at the University of Georgia Golf Course. Live results will be available at GoStanford.com.
