COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Akash Modi delivered a season-best performance in the all-around and claimed three event titles to lead No. 2 Stanford to its fourth consecutive second-place finish at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships Saturday evening.

The Cardinal (10-3, 6-2 MPSF) scored 437.150 to place behind No. 1 Oklahoma (447.400) and ahead of No. 7 California (432.700) and No. 10 Air Force (425.150).

Modi was named the MPSF Gymnast of the Year for the second consecutive season at the conclusion of the meet. He showcased why he deserved the honor throughout the conference championships, earning MPSF titles in the all-around (90.400), parallel bars (15.650) and floor (15.500). Modi also recorded top-10 finishes on vault (3rd, 15.350), rings (7th, 14.650), high bar (8th, 14.750) and pommel horse (10th, 14.500).

Modi has earned 20 individual event victories against NCAA teams this season: all-around (5), parallel bars (5), floor (4), pommel horse (3), rings (2) and high bar (1).

Stanford registered the second-highest scores in four-of-six events and 10 Cardinal gymnasts combined for 21 top-10 finishes.

Dennis Zaremski had a great showing, registering second-place finishes on parallel bars (15.350) and rings (14.900). He score on parallel bars is a season best.

Brian Knott led the Cardinal on pommel horse with a 15.050 to place third. He added a sixth-place finish on parallel bars (15.000) and a ninth-place result on high bar (14.700).

Michael Levy tied for fifth on floor with a season-best 15.350 and produced a 14.650 on rings to tie for seventh.

Sean Senters placed fourth on vault with a 15.200 and had a nice showing on floor with a 14.950.

Stanford will have a week off before traveling to Norman, Oklahoma, for the NCAA Championships on April 9-11.
