STANFORD, Calif. - Senior mechanical engineering major Kaess Smit and other members of the Stanford men's rowing team recently went to the cardiology department to help with research involving what it takes to be a "super athlete."
Stanford is looking to see if genes from "super athletes" can be used to replicate in order to improve overall health of the general public. Smit rowed on the erg while his oxygen levels were recorded at each increasing stage of endurance.
ABC7 News Bay Area did a feature on the genomes study that included Smit.
