Stanford Tops Oregon 6-1

STANFORD, Calif. - No. 10 Stanford coasted past No. 62 Oregon 6-1 on Friday afternoon at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Stanford (12-4, 5-2 Pac-12) has won three in a row, with each match decided by a 6-1 score. The Cardinal was opening up a four-match homestand after its longest road stretch since 2012, playing four consecutive matches.

After capturing the doubles point for a 1-0 lead, Ellen Tsay contributed a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 5 spot. Carol Zhao made it 3-0 following a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at the No. 1 position.

The clincher came from court four, where Krista Hardebeck held off Marlou Kluiving 6-1, 7-6 (3).

Stanford is back in action on Saturday, hosting No. 51 Washington at noon. The Cardinal will recognize Tsay in a senior ceremony between doubles and singles.
