STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford rising junior Madi Schreyer will return to her home state in the fall of 2015 to continue her education at Washington.

“Madi has made the decision to move home to Washington where she has a strong family and medical support system after a tough year in terms of injury,” said Stanford head coach Rachel Hanson. “We wish Madi all the best and are appreciative of everything she’s done for Stanford softball.”

“Choosing to leave my team, my friends, and Stanford as a school, has been hands-down the most difficult decision I’ve had to make in my 20 years,” said Schreyer. “Coach Hanson and staff have been more than supportive and understanding about my decision to move on to play at the University of Washington, and me and my family are so appreciative and thankful of that.”

“I have been extremely grateful and blessed to have played beside and developed such amazing friendships with my teammates these past two years, and I can’t wait to watch all of them and their successes in the upcoming years. I will miss my Stanford family so much, but I am excited about what my future holds back in Seattle.”
