Recruits Ranked

STANFORD, Calif. -- Two of Stanford’s recruits could go high in the upcoming MLB Draft, according to Baseball America’s draft-eligible prospect rankings. Outfielder Mitchell Hansen is ranked No. 43, while pitcher Tristan Beck comes in at No. 63.

Hansen was one of the top recruits in the nation out of Plano, Texas. The 6-4, 200-pound left-hander’s athleticism and power guided him to 2014 Under Armour All-America and 2015 Perfect Game first team All-America honors.

Beck had an ERA less than 1.00 as a junior and recently threw 10 innings of one-hit ball with 14 strikeouts and three walks in a playoff game against Arlington. His fastball routinely sits in the low-90s.

The 2015 MLB Draft is scheduled for June 8-10. High school seniors have the option of signing a professional contract or coming to Stanford, where they would become draft eligible again after their junior season.
