STANFORD, Calif. – On the first day of spring finals for the Cardinal, 19 individuals were honored on the Pac-12 All-Academic teams Friday.

Stanford placed five on the first team, tying for the second most in the conference. The 19 overall selections was the third most.

Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year Naomi Cornman (international relations and French) led the way on the first team. She was joined by senior Nicole Gilmore (biology), Emily Grundman (international relations), Simone Jacobs (science, technology and society) and Hope Sheils (international relations).

The second team featured six rowers, including three seniors. The soon-to-be graduates are Alix Chrumka (biology), Amanda Lorei (English) and Nancy Miles (human biology). The others on the second team were Meredith Fischer (human biology), Karen Munyan (undeclared) and Ellie Parker (mechanical engineering).

All six seniors made the All-Academic team with Courtney Carrabino (international relations) receiving honorable mention. Also on the honorable mention list were juniors Kay Rusher (biomechanical engineering), McKayla Taaffe (science, technology and society) and Katie Toothman (human biology) as well as sophomores Reilly Hayes, Ruth Narode, Lilly Tinapple and Karlie Kirk.

The 19 selections marks the second most for Stanford on the Pac-12 All-Academic team. Only last year’s total of 22 was higher.
