STANFORD, Calif. – In conjunction with the Pac-12 Networks releasing its 2015 women’s volleyball television picks, Monday, the defending Pac-12 champion Stanford women’s volleyball program has announced its fall schedule. The Cardinal has 17 matches slated for coverage on the Pac-12 Networks, two on ESPNU and an additional match on the Big Ten Network.
In total, the Pac-12 Networks will be televising 92 Pac-12 women’s volleyball matches in 2015. Stanford’s season opener against Texas A&M on Friday, Aug. 28 will kick-start the fourth season of live women’s volleyball coverage on the networks. The Cardinal will also play host to Minnesota on Aug. 30 at Maples Pavilion. Stanford is opening the season at home for the first time since 2006.
The Cardinal will then hit the road for the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge, hosted by defending national champion Penn State. Stanford will face Illinois on Friday, Sept. 4 in State College, Pennsylvania before taking on the Nittany Lions on the Big Ten Network in a rematch of last year’s NCAA semifinals.
Stanford will remain on the road to take on two ACC foes in North Carolina on Sept. 10 in Chapel Hill and Duke on Sept. 11 in Durham.
After a final non-conference tune-up against Pacific (Sept. 18) and Saint Mary’s (Sept. 19) at home, Stanford begins Pac-12 Conference play on the road at rival California on Tuesday, Sept. 22 on the networks.
In fact, three of Stanford’s first four conference matches will be played on the road. After a Sept. 27 visit from USC, which is the only meeting between the two teams during the regular season, the Cardinal will head to the desert to take on Arizona (Sept. 30) and Arizona State (Oct. 2).
Stanford’s first nine conference matches are slated to be televised on the Pac-12 Networks, including versus Oregon State (Oct. 9) and Oregon (Oct. 11), at Utah (Oct. 16) and Colorado (Oct. 18), and at home against Washington (Oct. 21).
After a four-match homestand against the Washington and Arizona schools, the Cardinal will hit the road for four consecutive outings. Stanford at Oregon (Nov. 5) and at Washington (Nov. 12) will both air on ESPNU.
Stanford hosts Cal for Senior Night on Wednesday, Nov. 25. The Cardinal’s lone meeting of the season against UCLA is scheduled for Nov. 27 in Los Angeles in the Pac-12 finale. Both contests will air on the Pac-12 Networks.
The NCAA Tournament begins with opening rounds, Dec.4-5 at campus sites, NCAA Regional action will take place the following week, Dec. 11-12, with Iowa, Kentucky, San Diego and Texas serving as the host sites. The Final Four is set for Dec. 17-19 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Stanford returns 10 players from the 2015 roster, including four All-Americans which led the squad to its nation-best 19th Final Four appearance. Six freshmen will join the Cardinal this fall. All dates, times and telecasts are subject to change.
