HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England – The draw was held on Saturday in Henley-on-Thames to decide the matchups for the Henley Royal Regatta.
Names of all qualifiers were placed in a trophy and drawn out to decide matchups.
After qualifying for the regatta last night, the varsity eight earned a top four seed for the Remenham Challenge Cup. The Cardinal drew a familiar face in Brown University. The two American boats will match up in the first round of racing on Friday. Times will be announced at a later date.
Joining Stanford in the Remenham Challenge Cup will be alum Michelle Vezie with the Imperial London & Sport Imperial boat. Vezie’s club will face the Western Rowing Club, made up of members from the Canadian national team.
Stanford’s quad, which automatically qualified by winning the Women’s Henley, will race in the Princess Grace Challenge Cup starting on Friday. The Cardinal quad also earned one of the top four seeds and drew the Quintin B.C. and California Rowing Club for the first go-around.
Also racing at the Henley Royal Regatta will be signee Elizabeth Sharis with the Y Quad Cities club. Sharis will compete in a junior quad starting on Thursday against The Tideway Scullers' School.
