Anderson was one of Indianapolis’ few bright spots on Sunday. In his NFL debut, he led the Colts defense with nine tackles and three tackles for a loss, while playing on 85% of defensive snaps.

Johnson Bademosi • DB • Cleveland Browns • 4th season • @j_bademosi24

Bademosi served as special teams captain against the Jets on Sunday. 

Doug Baldwin • WR • Seattle Seahawks • 5th season • @DougBaldwinJr

Baldwin was targeted nine times in the Seahawks’ loss to the Rams. He finished the day with seven catches for 35 yards. 

David DeCastro • G • Pittsburgh Steelers • 4th season 

The Steelers lost their opener to the Patriots on Thursday night, but DeCastro’s impact was a positive one. The former All-American at Stanford was integral to Pittsburgh’s 134 rushing yards.  

Jim Dray • TE • Cleveland Browns • 6th season 

Dray was utilized in both the passing game and the run-blocking game in Cleveland’s opener against the Jets. He finished with three targets and one catch for 13 yards while helping the Browns rush for 104 yards. 

Zach Ertz • TE • Philadelphia Eagles • 3rd season • @ZERTZ_86

The former Cardinal standout was targeted eight times in a Monday night loss against Atlanta. Ertz finished the night with three catches for 46 yards, including a spectacular 21-yard reception in the fourth quarter. 

 

Coby Fleener • TE • Indianapolis Colts • 4th season • @Coby

Fleener was targeted once in Indianapolis’ loss to Buffalo. He finished the day with a five-yard reception and a successful two-point conversion. 

Toby Gerhart • RB • Jacksonville Jaguars • 6th season • @Toby_Gerhart

Gerhart (abdominal injury) saw no action against Carolina in Week 1. 

Ryan Hewitt • H-B • Cincinnati Bengals • 2nd season • @Huey_85

Hewitt was on the field for 50% of Cincinnati’s snaps against Oakland, mostly as a run blocker. He helped the Bengals rush for 127 yards including two Jeremy Hill touchdowns. 

Andrew Luck • QB • Indianapolis Colts • 4th season 

The Colts lost their opener against Buffalo, 27-14. Luck finished 26 of 49 passing for 243 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. 


Matthew Masifilo • G • Tampa Bay Buccaneers • 2nd season • @MMasifilo

Masifilo made his debut as an offensive tackle in Sunday's loss to Tennessee. 

Josh Mauro • DE • Arizona Cardinals • 2nd season • @JustJoshin90

Mauro started at nose tackle in Arizona's 31-19 over New Orleans in Week 1.

Stanford’s career leader in kickoff return yards showed why he got the Packers' nod against the Bears in Week 1. Montgomery returned the opening kickoff 41 yards and finished with three returns for 106 yards.

Washington fell in its opener against Miami. Murphy finished the day with three tackles. 

Chris Owusu • WR • New York Jets • 5th season • @Owusu81

Owusu was the Jets’ second-most targeted receiver with six in a win over Cleveland. He finished the day with four catches for 55 yards, including a 43-yard reception. 

David Parry • DT • Indianapolis Colts • 1st season • @DavidParry58Parry started in his NFL debut against Buffalo and finished with one tackle. He was on the field for 56% of Indianapolis’ defensive snaps.   

Andrus Peat • OT • New Orleans Saints • 1st season • @AndrusPeat

New Orleans lost its opener to the Arizona Cardinals, 31-19. Peat, the 13th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, checked in as tackle-eligible on a crucial Saints third down, which they converted.

Jordan Richards • DB • New England Patriots • 1st season 

Richards made his NFL debut on Thursday night against Pittsburgh. He was on the field for 16 special teams plays. 

Richard Sherman • CB • Seattle Seahawks • 5th season • @RSherman_25

The All-Pro cornerback showed his versatility against St. Louis, lining up at both left cornerback and in the slot. Sherman finished the day with three tackles, two solo tackles, and a pass defended. 

Shayne Skov • LB • San Francisco 49ers • 1st season • @ShayneSkov

Skov made his NFL debut on Monday night against Minnesota. His first career tackle came on an outstanding kickoff coverage in the third quarter. 

 

A.J. Tarpley • LB • Buffalo Bills • 1st season • @AJTarpley

Tarpley made his NFL debut on Sunday in a win against Indianapolis. Tarpley was part of a Buffalo defense that held Andrew Luck and the Colts to just 14 points. 

Stepfan Taylor • RB • Arizona Cardinals • 3rd season • @KULABAFI

 Taylor helped Arizona top New Orleans 31-19 in the season opener at home. 

Michael Thomas • S • Miami Dolphins • 3rd season • @Michael31Thomas

Thomas split time with rookie Walt Aikins at free safety. He finished the day with two tackles, including one solo. 

Levine Toilolo • TE • Atlanta Falcons • 3rd season • @LevineToilolo

Toilolo was utilized on both offense and special teams in a 26-24 win against Philadelphia on Monday night. He had one catch for four yards, a special teams tackle and a timely downed punt late in the contest. 

Griff Whalen • WR • Indianapolis Colts • 4th season • @GriffWhalen

Whalen served as a special-teamer in Indianapolis' 27-14 loss to Buffalo. 

Players on Injured Reserve

Alex Carter • CB • Detroit Lions • 1st season • @AlexCarter

The third-round pick sustained an ankle injury in training camp and will be sidelined through at least the first half of the 2015 season. 

Tyler Gaffney • RB • New England Patriots • 2nd season 

A former sixth-round pick, Gaffney was injured in the first week of Patriots training camp. After clearing waivers, the Patriots placed him on their short-term injury reserve list.

Cameron Fleming • OG • New England Patriots • 2nd season • @cammyjfresh

Fleming appeared in seven games with two starts as a rookie in 2014 with New England. 

Ed Reynolds • S • Philadelphia Eagles • 1st season 

Reynolds spent last season on the Philadelphia practice squad. During the 2015 preseason, Reynolds had 13 tackles and two interceptions, both against the Colts on Aug. 16. 

James Vaughters • LB • Green Bay Packers • 1st season • @JVaught9

Vaughters went undrafted in 2015, but nonetheless earned a role in the Packers organization. Vaughters beat out Jermauria Rasco and Adrian Hubbard for a spot on the Packers’ practice squad. 

David Yankey • OG • Minnesota Vikings • 2nd season • @papa_yank

The former All-American at Stanford was selected in the fifth round of the 2014 draft by Minnesota.
