Card Golfers Finish 10th

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Stanford women’s golf team finished 10th in the ANNIKA Intercollegiate Presented by 3M on Tuesday at the Reunion Resort. The second-ranked Cardinal closed with a 9-over-par score of 297 and completed the 54-hole tournament with a 9-over total of 873.

USC won the title at 828.

“We are disappointed with our play today,” said Anne Walker, the Margot and Mitch Milias Director of Women’s Golf. “Our patience wore thin on and around the greens and that took a toll on our ability to make birdies.”

Senior All-Americans Mariah Stackhouse and Lauren Kim paced Stanford by tying for 19th at 1-under 215. Stackhouse shot a 2-over 74 on Tuesday, making one birdie and three bogeys. Kim checked in with a 75. She played the front nine in 1-under 35, carding three birdies, but slipped to a 4-over 40 on the back nine.

Sophomore Shannon Aubert posted Stanford’s best final round with a 72 and tied for 28th at 1-over 217. She fashioned two birdies and two bogeys.

Juniors Casey Danielson and Quirine Eijkenboom each shot 76. Danielson finished at 10-over 226 and placed 51st, while Eijkenboom wound up 12-over 228 and finished 52nd.

The team returns to competition Oct. 18-20, when the Cardinal hosts the annual Stanford Intercollegiate at Stanford Golf Course.

“We are excited to get back to campus and practice what we learned,” Walker said. “We will no doubt be ready to compete in a couple weeks.”
