• No. 15/16 Stanford puts its four-game winning streak on the line Thursday when it plays host to 18th-ranked UCLA at Stanford Stadium.

• The Cardinal (4-1 overall, 3-0 Pac-12) sits alone atop the Pac-12 North Division. Most recently, the Cardinal picked up a 55-17 win against Arizona while rushing for over 300 yards for the second time in as many weeks.

• Dating to 2014, Stanford has won seven of its past eight games while averaging 40.2 points/game in those victories.

• The Cardinal enters the matchup ranked 15th by the AP and 16th by USA Today. Thursday marks the first home meeting against a ranked foe since the 2014 home finale with No. 25 Utah. The Cardinal has not defeated a ranked opponent at home since 2013, when it did so five times.

• Stanford’s seven straight wins over UCLA are tied for the program’s best active win streak against any opponent (seven straight wins vs. Washington State), and marks the longest winning streak for either team in the series. Stanford has scored at least 24 points in each of the past seven wins against the Bruins.

• Save for WWII, Stanford and UCLA have met in every season since 1925, and 71 times in the past 70 years (twice in 2012).

• Stanford head coach David Shaw is undefeated against six Pac-12 opponents, including UCLA. In addition to the Bruins, the Cardinal has not lost to Arizona, Cal, Colorado, Oregon State and Washington State during Shaw’s tenure. Shaw has five wins over UCLA, the most against any program.

• Stanford’s offense struggled to put up points in a 16-6 season-opening loss at Northwestern. Since then, the Cardinal is one of five FBS teams to score at least 31 points in each of their past three contests, and one of two to do so without facing an FCS program.

• Under Shaw, Stanford is 5-0 vs. UCLA, 31-8 in Pac-12 regular season games, 26-3 at home, 14-4 in October, 32-11 coming off a win, 5-2 coming off a bye week, 16-9 vs. AP Top 25, 20-6 when ranked higher than an opponent, 23-8 in night games, 1-1 on Thursday and 12-4 on ESPN.

• Since 2010, Stanford is 41-5 in games played in California (3-0 in 2015, 7-2 in 2014, 7-2 in 2013, 10-0 in 2012, 7-1 in 2011, 7-0 in 2010). Furthermore, Stanford is 20-2 over that stretch vs. Golden State foes.

• Stanford and Texas are the only schools among the 68 Power 5 and independent programs to play 12 FBS opponents, 11 of which are Power 5 schools or Notre Dame. Five of Stanford’s 12 regular-season opponents -- No. 7 Oregon, No. 8 USC, No. 11 Notre Dame, No. 13 UCLA and No. 22 Arizona -- were ranked in the AP’s preseason top 25.

• Stanford requires students to declare a major before their junior year. Among the team’s upperclassmen, 16 majors are represented. Eleven Cardinal are engineering majors. Majors with three or more Cardinal student-athletes: communication, economics, human biology, management science and engineering, psychology, public policy, and science, technology and society.

• No program in the nation has a higher graduation rate over the past four years than Stanford (99%). Furthermore, no Pac-12 Conference team has had more draftees over the past four years than Stanford (19).

• Stanford’s entire full-time coaching staff from the 2014 season returned for the 2015 campaign. It’s the first time since 1999-2000 under Tyrone Willingham that Stanford’s staff remained intact.

• Stanford’s roster includes student-athletes from 28 states and Canada.

• Fifth-year senior QB Kevin Hogan, senior LG Joshua Garnett, senior LT Kyle Murphy, fifth-year senior CB Ronnie Harris, fifth-year senior OLB Kevin Anderson and senior ILB Blake Martinez serve as captains, as voted by their teammates. Hogan is Stanford’s first two-time team captain since Bo McNally (2008-09).
