Hodson Recognized Again

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford opposite Hayley Hodson has been tabbed the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the second straight week, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

Hodson helped lead the Cardinal to a sweep over Oregon State and a four-set win against No. 25 Oregon at home last week. The rookie hit a blistering .643 in the two matches, totaling 38 kills on 56 attempts with just two errors. She also racked up 3.14 digs per set and 0.86 blocks per set in the two matches.

Against the Beavers, Hodson hit a career high .652 (16-1-23) and secured a career-best 15 digs for her sixth double-double of the year. The Newport Beach, California native followed up with a career-high 22 kills, hitting .636, seven digs and a career-best six blocks against the 25th-ranked Ducks.

On the season, Hodson leads the Cardinal with 3.71 kills, 0.29 aces and 4.38 points per set while also recording 2.46 digs per set.

It marks the third weekly honor for Hodson and the 12th freshman of the week accolade for the Cardinal all-time, which ties USC for the most since the award's inception in 2011.

Stanford hits the road this week to take on Utah on Friday, Oct. 16 and Colorado on Sunday, Oct. 18. Both matches will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks.
