Anderson is firmly in the race for NFL defensive rookie of the year. He started in Indianapolis’ win against Jacksonville, finishing the day with six tackles and a pass defended.

Johnson Bademosi • DB • Cleveland Browns • 4th season • @j_bademosi24

With Cleveland’s all-pro cornerback Joe Haden sidelined, Bademosi stepped into a starting role against San Diego on Sunday. He played on 65% of defensive snaps, 85% of special teams plays and finished with three tackles and two special teams tackles.

Doug Baldwin • WR • Seattle Seahawks • 5th season • @DougBaldwinJr

Baldwin opened the scoring on Monday night with a 24-yard touchdown reception from Russell Wilson. He finished the evening with three catches for 36 yards in a 13-10 win against Detroit on Monday Night Football.

David DeCastro • G • Pittsburgh Steelers • 4th season 

DeCastro started and played on 100% of Pittsburgh’s offensive snaps and helped it rush 33 times for 167 yards and a touchdown. The Steelers fell to 2-2 after a loss to Baltimore.

Jim Dray • TE • Cleveland Browns • 6th season 

Dray was utilized on offense and special teams in Cleveland’s loss against San Diego.

Ertz finished the day with two catches for 11 yards but was unfortunate to have an 11-yard touchdown reception called back for illegal formation in the first quarter.

Coby Fleener • TE • Indianapolis Colts • 4th season • @Coby

Fleener had a career day in a win against Jacksonville. He led Indianapolis in catches (nine), receiving yards (83), longest catch (28 yards) and touchdowns (one).

Still making his way back from injury, Gerhart saw limited action in Sunday’s loss against Indianapolis.

Ryan Hewitt • H-B • Cincinnati Bengals • 2nd season • @Huey_85

Hewitt played on offense and special teams in Cincinnati’s fourth straight win to begin the season. The Bengals have a two-game lead over Pittsburgh in the AFC North.

Andrew Luck • QB • Indianapolis Colts • 4th season 

After starting in each of his first 51 NFL contest, Luck missed his first career start on Sunday. His status for Thursday’s matchup against Houston is unknown.

Masifilo saw action on special teams in Tampa Bay's loss against Carolina.

Mauro earned his third start of the season in Sunday’s loss against St. Louis. He was also used on special teams.

With Davante Adams injured, Montgomery earned his first NFL start against San Francisco. Stanford’s career leader in kickoff return yards played the most snaps of any Packers receiver, finishing with two rushes for 10 yards, six targets and three catches for 15 yards.

Trent Murphy • LB • Washington Redskins • 2nd season • @TMurphy_93

Washington beat Philadelphia 23-20 thanks to some late-game heroics by Murphy. The former All-American at Stanford had a sack and a fumble recovery on the Eagles’ final drive, clinching victory for the Redskins.

Owusu was inactive for the second consecutive game with a leg injury.

The fifth-round pick has now started all four of Indianapolis’ games. He finished with two tackles on Sunday while also displaying his versatility, lining up as tackle eligible on one offensive snap.

Terron Armstead’s short injury absence in the second quarter gave Peat a cameo at left tackle for New Orleans, who beat Dallas to improve to 1-3.

With Jacob Tamme sidelined through injury, Toilolo stepped into a starting role and helped Atlanta rush for 135 yards and four touchdowns. The Falcons are 4-0.

Whalen had his first reception of the season, a 16-yard gain, to go along with two punt returns for 16 yards and two kickoff returns for 60 yards in a win against Jacksonville.

Players on Injured Reserve

The third-round pick sustained an ankle injury in training camp and will be sidelined through at least the first half of the 2015 season. 

Tyler Gaffney • RB • New England Patriots • 2nd season 

A former sixth-round pick, Gaffney was injured in the first week of Patriots training camp. After clearing waivers, the Patriots placed him on their short-term injury reserve list. 

Players on NFL Practice Squads


Cameron Fleming • OG • New England Patriots • 2nd season • @cammyjfresh

Fleming appeared in seven games with two starts as a rookie in 2014 with New England. The former fourth-rounder was named to the Patriots’ practice squad on Sunday. 

Ed Reynolds • S • Philadelphia Eagles • 1st season 

Reynolds spent last season on the Philadelphia practice squad. During the 2015 preseason, Reynolds had 13 tackles and two interceptions, both against the Colts on Aug. 16. 

James Vaughters • LB • Green Bay Packers • 1st season • @JVaught9

Vaughters went undrafted in 2015, but nonetheless earned a role in the Packers organization. Vaughters beat out Jermauria Rasco and Adrian Hubbard for a spot on the Packers’ practice squad. 

David Yankey • OG • Minnesota Vikings • 2nd season • @papa_yank

The former All-American at Stanford was selected in the fifth round of the 2014 draft by Minnesota.
