STANFORD, Calif. – Behind freshman opposite Hayley Hodson, the No. 7 Stanford women's volleyball team got back on track, sweeping Oregon State, 25-19, 25-22, 25-18, Friday, at Maples Pavilion. The Cardinal improves to 9-4 overall and to 3-2 in the Pac-12, while the Beavers dropped to 3-12 and 1-4 in the conference.
Hodson put up career numbers, finishing with 16 kills on 23 swings with just one error to hit a season-best .652. She also racked up a career high 15 digs to record her sixth double-double of the season.

As a team, Stanford hit a season-best .356 while holding Oregon State to a .175 clip. The Cardinal also played solid defensively, leading the Beavers 9.0 to 6.5 in the block column and 60 to 41 in the dig column.
Senior setter Madi Bugg controlled the offense, tallying her team-best seventh double-double of the year with 40 assists and 14 digs. In the process, the collected her 1,000th career dig becoming just the 16th Cardinal player to accomplish that feat.

Senior Jordan Burgess had 10 kills on .333 hitting for the Cardinal to go with eight digs and two blocks. Redshirt sophomore middle blocker Merete Lutz added nine kills on a .381 attack percentage, while counterpart Ivana Vanjak posted five kills and a match-best five blocks. Freshman libero Halland McKenna finished with 14 digs, marking her eighth straight match with double-digit digs.
Oregon State was led by outside hitter Mary-Kate Marshall's 12 kills and six digs. Redshirt junior outside hiiter Katelyn Driscoll added eight kills for the Beavers, while freshman libero Kayla Ellis totaled a team-best 12 digs.
Stanford closes out the weekend against No. 25 Oregon on Sunday, Oct. 11. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. PT on the Pac-12 Networks. Sunday's match is Breast Cancer Awareness Night and Autograph Night for the Cardinal.
