STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford libero Halland McKenna has been tabbed the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for Oct. 26 – Nov. 1, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

McKenna anchored the Cardinal defense in wins over No. 14 Arizona State and No. 19 Arizona last week. The Laguna Beach, California native averaged 5.43 digs per set, 1.84 more than her season average, as Stanford held the Sun Devils and Wildcats to a combined .120 attack percentage.

After recording 11 digs in a sweep over Arizona State, McKenna collected a career high 27 digs in four sets against Arizona. She has tallied double-digit digs in six straight matches and 15 overall on the season. She was also perfect on serve receive with zero errors on 30 attempts in the two matches.

It marks the first weekly honor for McKenna and the 14th freshman of the week accolade for the Cardinal all-time, which leads the conference.

No. 7 Stanford hits the road this week to take on Oregon on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. PT on ESPNU and Oregon State on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. PT on the Pac-12 Networks.
