STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford will conclude its fall season this weekend with an appearance at the Art Adamson Invitational in College Station, Texas, hosted by Texas A&M.
The Art Adamson Invitational is slated for Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 19-21, at the Student Recreation Center Natatorium. Preliminaries for the swimming competition will be held every morning at 9:30 a.m., followed by finals at 6 p.m. each night.
The diving competition will be staggered throughout the three days of competition. On Thursday, the women's 3M prelims will begin at 3 p.m., with the final occurring during the evening session. On Friday, the women will compete the 1M at noon with the final immediately following. On Saturday, the men's and women's platform competition will be held simultaneously at noon.
Other participants include Arizona State, Boise State, LSU, SMU, TCU and Utah.
The Cardinal has registered victories over Utah (177-112) and Washington State (142-119) in its only other duals of the fall.
The annual event is held in honor of Adamson, was one of the longest tenured coaches in Texas A&M athletics history, coaching the Aggies more than 35 years from 1934 to 1970. During his time at Texas A&M, Adamson coached All-Americans and Olympians, while leading the Aggies to multiple conference team championships. He was inducted in the Texas A&M Athletics Hall of Fame in 1970, as well as the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame and the Texas Swimming Hall of Fame.
