STANFORD, Calif. – No. 13 Stanford (12-5, 4-2 America East) kicks-off its first America East Tournament as the No. 1 seed and will face fourth-seeded Vermont (4-15, 2-6 America East) Thursday at 1:30 p.m. PT in Albany, N.Y.
Stanford finished their 2015 season on a high note Friday afternoon, defeating Pacific 2-1 to avenge an earlier loss in the season. With the win, the Cardinal clinched the No. 1 seed in the West Division of the America East Tournament this week. While the score remained low, Stanford’s offense went full-force at the Tigers, outshooting Pacific 25-5 in the win.
The Cardinal checked in at No. 13 in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Poll. Stanford was also listed No. 10 in the NCAA’s RPI rankings.
