The Stanford football team is heading to the Rose Bowl. This website is the hub for all relevant bowl information and will be updated regularly. Please refer to this page for all information about FAQs, fan events, and Rose Bowl Stadium policies.

Stanford Athletics has sent a Deferred Bowl Game Ticket Application to the following individuals:

  • 2015 football season ticket members
  • Lifetime donors to Stanford Athletics of $100,000 or more
  • Academic year 2014-15 Buck/Cardinal Club donors of $1,000 or more

These individuals received Deferred Bowl Game Ticket Applications via email the week of November 23 and may request bowl game tickets by completing their applications before the deadline of December 7 at 5 p.m. PT. These individuals will be notified regarding their tickets on Tuesday, December 15, and credit cards will be charged at that time. Individuals who submit the Deferred Bowl Game Ticket Application are obligated to purchase the number of tickets received, up to the number that was requested.

Due to high demand for The Rose Bowl Game, the number of tickets requested by Stanford fans may exceed the number of available tickets. We will accommodate as many Stanford fans as we can, but it is possible that not all fans will receive tickets or that some fans will receive fewer tickets than were requested.

The Rose Bowl Game requires all individuals to have their own ticket, including infants.

Current Stanford students:

Student tickets are now sold out! We know the students who purchased tickets will make the Red Zone proud in Pasadena.

All tickets must be picked up at Will Call in Los Angeles with a valid SUID card.

Stanford Alumni:

This year, we offered a Stanford Alumni Lottery for access to purchase tickets from a limited allotment in the Stanford section at the Rose Bowl Game. All Stanford alumni were eligible to enter the lottery for access to purchase Rose Bowl Game tickets. Alumni season ticket members who had already requested and receive Rose Bowl Game tickets from Stanford were not eligible to receive tickets through this lottery. Non-Stanford alums were also disqualified from the lottery. The lottery was only available online and was intended to provide access to the Rose Bowl Game for as many Stanford alums as possible who may not already have season tickets.

A credit card and a non-refundable $7 processing fee per entry was charged upon submission of the entry. No refunds will be given to non-eligible entrants who enter the lottery.

The Alumni Lottery registration opened Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 9 a.m. and closed Saturday, Dec. 12 at Noon PT. There was a limit of one entry per household.

Alumni status was verified by the Stanford Alumni Association. Notification of Alumni Lottery results will be sent on Monday, Dec. 14 to the email provided during registration. Lottery entrants are obligated to purchase tickets if they won the lottery. Winners were selected randomly from the population of eligible entrants and were charged immediately for the cost of tickets ($150 each), plus a one-time delivery fee ($25). Winners were allowed to purchase up to four tickets.

Bowl game ticket requests submitted by the application deadline are eligible for shipping to home* addresses. Tickets will be shipped via 2-day FedEx on Tuesday or Wednesday, December 15-16. A confirmation email will be sent from FedEx with shipment tracking information.

*Please note: Tickets will not be shipped to a Post Office box (FedEx does not ship to PO Boxes). If you would like to reroute your package, you must change delivery directly through the FedEx tracking confirmation number you receive from FedEx. Stanford Athletics can no longer accept any address changes as all shipping labels have been printed.

Recommended Option: Stanford Athletics Ticket Office (near Gate 2 at Stanford Stadium):
Will Call pick-up will be open on December 17 and 18 from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. If possible, we recommend picking up your tickets at the Stanford Athletics Ticket Office to avoid long lines in Pasadena. The Stanford Athletics Ticket Office will be closed from December 19 - January 3 in observance of Stanford University's winter closure. If you have any questions during that time, please email athleticstickets@stanford.edu.

Los Angeles/Pasadena:
Will Call pick-up will be open in the Constellation Ballroom on the Plaza Level at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza (2025 Avenue of the Stars, Los Angeles, CA 90067) on December 30 and 31 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Will Call pick-up will be open at the Rose Bowl Stadium on January 1 starting at 10 a.m. outside of Gate A. Please be ready for long lines and plan accordingly for getting into the stadium.

Students:
Student tickets will only be available for pick up at Will Call in Los Angeles. A valid SUID card must be presented.

Stanford received a limited number of parking passes for the Rose Bowl Game. Therefore, parking passes were assigned based on a customer’s level of engagement with Stanford Athletics and Stanford University. If parking was unavailable, customers were not charged for the pass that was requested. Information about parking at Rose Bowl Stadium can be found here. Gameday parking is available for $40/car on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking lots open at 4 a.m.

Stanford receives a limited number of tickets to the Rose Bowl Game in predetermined locations. The number of tickets and the location of seats is based on conference alignment, sponsorship agreements, and other extenuating factors, and is also out of Stanford’s control. Therefore, while an overwhelming majority of the requests we receive are for sideline seats ($185 tickets), only a quarter of Stanford’s ticket allocation is for those seats. As a result, bowl seating is assigned based on a customer’s level of engagement with Stanford Athletics and Stanford University. If requested seats are unavailable, orders will be fulfilled with the next best available seating level and the price charged will reflect the tickets received.

Rose Bowl Stadium has recently implemented a clear bag policy, similar to what has been in place for NFL stadiums in recent years. Please read the policy in its entirely here. Note that this is a new policy and, as a result, you should expect longer than normal lines for getting into the stadium and should plan accordingly for getting to your seat before kickoff. For a full list of Rose Bowl Stadium rules and prohibited items, please click here. Note that, when accompanied by a child, diaper bags are permitted, in spite of the diagram. They are not permitted without a child present.

Clear bags will be available at all Fan Assistance locations throughout the Arroyo as well as the Public Tailgate in Area H. Please be advised that if your bag does not conform to the new security guidelines, you will be asked to return your item to your vehicle or place your item at the Checked Items tent located outside of Gate C.

Each postseason game allocates a fixed number of tickets in predetermined locations to both of the participating institutions. Depending on the game, prime seat locations (such as seats at midfield or in a club level) may or may not be part of the ticket package offered to Stanford. In addition to providing tickets for the two participating institutions, bowl organizations are also committed to making tickets available for annual subscribers in the local community and corporate sponsors.

Stanford allocates its postseason tickets and seat locations based on the degree to which each ticket purchaser engages with the university . Financial support for Stanford and the athletics program is critical to helping the Cardinal compete for postseason berths and win championships. Other forms of engagement, such as season ticket purchases and volunteer service, are also important.

Accordingly, given the quantity and location limitations of our assigned allotment of tickets, we use a fair and established system for assigning seats that considers engagement with Stanford during the seating process. We are extremely grateful for all of the support that Stanford Athletics receives, and we wish to recognize this during an event that is made possible because of alumni and fan support and engagement.

Similar to previous years, the number of tickets fulfilled and seat locations within Stanford’s ticket allotment will be assigned according to the customer’s level of engagement with the university and stated price level preference (subject to availability). The following criteria, not necessarily in this order, will determine seat location for postseason games:

Annual gifts to the Buck/Cardinal Club
Years of season ticket purchases in all season-ticketed sports
Total lifetime giving to Stanford Athletics
Total lifetime giving to Stanford University
Bequest intentions to Stanford Athletics
Volunteer service on an athletics or university board
Stanford alumnus/a
Former Stanford student-athlete

If you have purchased tickets from Stanford before, it is important that you sign in using your existing ticket account information upon receipt of the deferred bowl game ticket application so we can give proper credit for your engagement with Stanford during the seating process . Fans who need help retrieving their login information can call (800)-STANFORD to speak with a Stanford Athletics representative.

Due to the high volume of ticket requests, and the small window of time in which seating will need to be assigned, it is not be possible to accommodate requests for groups from different orders to be seated together.

For current Stanford students who want to sit together, further details will be provided at a later date.

Because Stanford is participating in the Rose Bowl Game and it is expected to sell out, there is a limit on the number of tickets that may be requested by each customer. Request limits (8 per account) are included in the Deferred Bowl Game Ticket Application.

We will make every effort to set a request limit that reflects the anticipated demand for each game, but it is possible that we may not be able to fulfill your entire request. By submitting the Deferred Bowl Game Ticket Application, you are committing to purchasing any amount of tickets up to number of tickets requested at the time of submission.
