STANFORD, Calif. – No. 18 Stanford takes to the road to face No. 2 TCU and No. 26 Texas this weekend, facing the Horned Frogs on Saturday at 11 a.m. and the Longhorns Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches will be held in Austin, Texas at the Weller Indoor Tennis Center.
The Cardinal opened up February with a 4-0 win over Santa Clara to push its record to 5-1. The lineup for the Cardinal includes two freshman in Michael Genender and Sameer Kumar, while ninth-ranked sophomore Tom Fawcett holds the No. 1 spot where he’s undefeated in dual play. Kumar has emerged as a rising star for Stanford, holding a perfect 6-0 record in dual action and 4-0 in doubles play with teammate Tom Fawcett.
After the weekend the Cardinal will take a break from action before resuming play Feb. 20, hosting Bay Area and Pac-12 rival California at 1 p.m. at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
