STANFORD, Calif. – No. 15 Stanford Lacrosse will kick off its 2016 campaign this week as it travels to face No. 11 Notre Dame Saturday. Game time is set for 9 a.m. at Loftus Sports Center in Notre Dame, Ind.

The Cardinal heads into 2016 after a memorable 2015 campaign that saw it claim Stanford’s ninth MPSF title in 11 years. The Cardinal returns a potent line-up, highlighted by U.S. national team member, Lucy Dikeou, who proved to be one of the best all-around players in the country, scoring 48 goals and setting a school season record in draw controls with 64. In fact, Dikeou led the team in goals (48), points (63), groundballs (34), draw controls (64), caused turnovers (24), and free-position goals (13.).

As a team in 2015, the Cardinal posted a 15-3 record, which ties for the fewest losses in school history while claiming NCAA titles in scoring offense (16.000 per game) and draw controls (16.28). The Cardinal returns eight starters from the 2015 season and look to claim its 10th MPSF title and beyond in its push to becoming a nationally prominent program.

The Cardinal will also host its home opener on Tuesday, Feb. 16 against MPSF foe, Saint Mary’s. Game time is set for 7 p.m. live on Pac-12 Networks.
