QUERENCIA, Mexico - Three Stanford men’s golfers shot even-par or better during Monday’s action at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate to jump from seventh to third in the team standings.

Stanford’s 6-under 278 was third-best total among the 15-team field and eight strokes better than its opening round. At 4-under through 36 holes, the Cardinal is seven shots behind second-place South Florida with clubhouse leader Georgia at 19-under.

Maverick McNealy began the round 54th among individuals and turned heads my bumping ahead 42 spots into 12th with a 6-under 65. McNealy went without a bogey while closing with four birdies on his final six holes.

McNealy is 2-over through 36 holes and one shot behind ninth-place Viraat Badhwar, who followed his opening 69 with a 1-under 70.

Arkansas’ Taylor Moore and South Florida’s Aksel Olsen are tied at 7-under in the medalist chase.

David Boote is tied for 20th after his 2-over 73, Brandon Wu contributed an even-par 71 and Isaiah Salinda was 1-over with a 72.
