EUGENE, Ore. – Carolyn Lee dazzled in her Pac-12 debut in the circle but her performance was not quite enough as Stanford dropped a 2-0 decision at No. 4/7 Oregon Thursday night.
Lee (6-7) threw her ninth complete game of the year and held the Ducks (24-4, 4-0 Pac-12) to a season-low two runs on three hits and five walks with three strikeouts. After allowing two hits and two runs in the first inning, Lee did not permit a hit until a leadoff single in the bottom of the sixth.
Stanford (11-12, 0-1 Pac-12) had its opportunities offensively but could not find the hit needed to break through. The Cardinal had two runners on in three different innings and left seven runners on base in the game. Kaitlin Schaberg and Kylie Sorenson provided Stanford's two hits.
