Greetings Stanford softball fans!
I have good news … we all survived the 10-hour bus trip each way to Oregon! It turned out to be quite a fun time. Although, it did start before sunrise.
The early start didn’t seem to faze Wegs.
Coach D did a great job of keeping us entertained with some periodic competitions throughout the ride. The winners received some delicious edible Easter treats.
Here is Sav after she destroyed us all in “Road Trip Bingo.” I’m pretty sure she won in less than 10 minutes.
Others passed the time by sleeping. Sorry Bessie …

And even crafting …
Our team manager Theresa made us these cleaver feathers to give us some extra motivation for our opening Pac-12 series.
Wegs was successful in having the team watch one of her favorite romance movies during the long bus ride. We sure did make the most of that 24-hour movie rental … the movie was watched on the same laptop five separate times on the way to Oregon.
Although the drive was long, all we had to do when we got bored was look out the window. We drove through some beautiful places.
I tried to convince Coach Hanson to let us stop and have a team ski day but I was unsuccessful.
Wegs tried to adopt a team sheep but he would’ve smelled up the bus so we couldn’t take him.
Once we reached Oregon we were pleasantly surprised by the lack of rain (for the most part). After hit-around one morning the coaches were nice enough to take us to get coffee.
Victoria was very thankful for this.
All in all it was a great trip with lots of team bonding and goofing around. We are back to classes this week and are preparing for our midweek game at Santa Clara on Wednesday.
We also host our first Pac-12 series of the year this weekend when we take on the Beavers of Oregon State. Its officially springtime and Palo Alto is a pretty neat place to be this time of year so come out and support!
I have to go do homework now,
