FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Sam Perry won the 50-yard freestyle and Stanford seized the lead on the second day of the Pac-12 Conference Swimming Championships.
“A great team effort puts us in front for today,” said Goldman Family Director of Men’s Swimming Ted Knapp. “We scored great points in all three events and winning the 50-yard freestyle was a great way to finish the individual swims.”
Liam Egan (4:13.80) opened the evening session with a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle. Danny Thomson (4:14.61) was right on his heels in third place, while Jimmy Yoder (4:21.28) scored points in the B-final.

Perry (19.30) won the 50 free by .11 seconds, while Jeff Garnier (19.80) and Patrick Conaton (19.95) took sixth and eighth place, respectively.
Spencer DeShon (19.79) won the B-final of the 50 free with Sean Duggan (20.12) earning points for the Cardinal.
Connor Black, Perry, Garnier and DeShon (1:18.14) finished the evening with a third-place finish in the 200-yard free relay.
The Cardinal also added a handful of NCAA invitees to their haul on Thursday.
“Abrahm DeVine, Gray Umbach, Max Williamson and Curtis Ogren also earned NCAA invitations in the 200 IM, as well as Sam Perry in the 50 free,” said Knapp. “Ryan Dudzinski will also get invited with his 100-yard backstroke time trial, and Ryan Arata is very close as well.”
In the 1-meter diving finals, Bradley Christensen (405.60) took home the top spot, adding to Stanford's lead after the second day. Connor Kuremsky (337.90) backed it up with a sixth-place finish, while Ted Miclau (270.60) and Tarek Abdelghany (261.35) also scored points in the B-final.
