Softblog: Salt Lake City

Hello again Stanford Softball fans,

The weeks seem to fly by these days. We are in week five of the quarter already!

Also, all of the fountains have been turned on around campus. In case you didn’t know … this is a big deal. The drought has kept the fountains out of commission for a year and a half but they are back in action just in time for the beautiful spring weather.

This weekend we experienced some not so pretty weather Saturday in Utah so we played a doubleheader on Friday and one game on Sunday. This left Saturday as a day of adventure in the beautiful Salt Lake City!

Some of us adventured to the South Temple area of downtown Salt Lake and walked around some cool gardens. The tulips were my personal favorite.

This weekend was especially special for me because my wonderful parents came to visit and watch our games. I went to Park City with them and we visited the Olympic Park practice facilities and museum.

Here we are posing for a typical family picture in front of the huge ski jumps.

And here I am chilling inside a bobsled.

The team never fails to be goofy. So here is some typical coverage of our never-ending antics.

CLee is pumped we made it to Utah.

We turned to dancing as a way to pass the time during our light bike workout … It proved quite effective.

Fun fact: Molly is obsessed with giraffes. She found this in the airport gift shop and had to stop and check it out.

Vic spent all weekend trying to get this pun to catch on, “Are you from Utah? Because u-tahriffic.” Nice try Vic but the rest of the team didn’t go for it.

As a follow up to last week’s blog, here is Theresa’s craft for this weekend. Quite clever if you ask me.

Well that’s a wrap for this week’s Softblog. There are only two more home weekends left so come out and support the Cardinal this weekend against Cal. If you’re on the fence about coming I made a flow chart to help you solidify your decision.

The choice is yours Stanford softball fans! Hope my flow chart helps you make the right choice.

Until next time,

Ardy Pardy
