STANFORD, Calif. – Seniors Lauren Kim and Mariah Stackhouse, catalysts for Stanford’s first NCAA title in 2015 and runner-up finish Wednesday in Eugene, Oregon, have been named All-Americans by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association.
Kim was selected to the First Team for the third-consecutive year. She is the fourth player in program history to accomplish that distinction, joining Mhairi McKay (1994-96-97), Kathleen McCarthy (1983-84-87) and Shelley Hamlin (1969-70-71).
A science, technology and society major from Los Altos, California, Kim led Stanford with a 71.77 scoring average, fourth-best in the country. She posted five top 10 showings and finished outside the top 20 once all season.
Stackhouse earned Second Team honors, marking the fourth-straight year she has received All-American recognition. She was an honorable mention choice in 2015, and made the First Team in 2013 and 2014.
A communication major from Riverdale, Georgia, Stackhouse recorded a scoring average of 72.31, ranked 22nd in the country, and recorded four top 10 finishes.
Stackhouse joins Stephanie Keever (1998-99-00-01) and Hilary Homeyer (1998-99-00-01) as Stanford’s only four-time All-Americans.
