Track Counts 51 All-Academic

STANFORD, Calif. – Fifty-one Stanford track and field athletes – 27 women and 24 men – received Pac-12 All-Academic recognition.

The Stanford women placed five on the first team, including NCAA 1,500 runner-up Elise Cranny. There were three first-team Stanford men.

Women’s honorees included 11 women’s All-Americas. Among them were Olivia Baker, the NCAA 800 runner-up and Pac-12 400 champ; Valarie Allman, third in the NCAA discus and Pac-12 champ; Claudia Saunders, fourth in the NCAA 800; and Aisling Cuffe, an eight-time All-America and two-time Pac-12 cross country champ.

Men’s honorees included four All-Americas, including NCAA 5,000 runner-up Sean McGorty.

To receive All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore academically and be a significant contributor.
