Pac-12 All-Academic Selections

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford was honored with four selections to the 2016 Pac-12 All-Academic Team on Thursday, as announced by Commissioner Larry Scott.

To be eligible for selection to the Pac-12 All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor. Freshmen are not eligible for consideration.

The Cardinal was represented with two first-team recipients: junior Yale Goldberg (3.69 – science, technology and society) and senior Maciek Romanowicz (3.70 p economics). Sophomores Tom Fawcett (3.39 – undeclared) and David Wilczynski (3.51 – undeclared) were named to the second-team.

The Cardinal (16-11, 4-3 Pac-12) finished its 2016 season in the Round of 16 in the NCAAs – its best finish since 2012. On its way to the round of 16, Stanford upset No. 14 Northwestern 4-3 in Evanston, Ill. Tom Fawcett also won his first NCAA Singles match, topping 22nd-ranked Nicolas Alvarez of Duke before falling in the Round of 32.
