Stanford Head Coach Mike Montgomery

(On the game) You have one opportunity to get to the Final Four. You realize you're gonna play a good basketball team to get there. They (Maryland) played great. They shot the ball well. Every time we made a play, they had an answer. Maryland disrupted our offense. We had one stretch in the first half where they had a run and we could never get back from that.

(On playing a lot without the Collins' twins in together) Maryland played five big guys and they don't care if they get in foul trouble. Jason only got seven shots and we come off the bench at only 6-6. (Foul trouble) is gonna catch up to you if you do not go that deep. We couldn't play a team who wanted to go inside and mix things up.

(On Maryland going to the Final Four) I'm sure (Gary Williams) is relieved and ecstatic. He had to deal with the issue of having so many good basketball teams without advancing to the Final Four. Now he has an answer.

Guard Casey Jacobsen

(On Miller and Mouton guarding him) They were very physical. I felt double played especially in the second half. If they are gonna play me that way there is not much I can do. We got ourselves in too big a hole. In no point in this game were we ahead.

(On Duke's defense being similar to Maryland) Every team pressures the wings. We couldn't stop Maryland's offense. Our defense was poor tonight. Their offense was on fire. We never got in the game.

(On Stanford scoring seven straight points in the second half) We finally gained momentum and after that time out it was gone. We had about five minutes of fire.

(On guarding Juan Dixon) He moves with the ball well. He never gives up.

(On the learning experience from the tournament) It's a little too soon. I've learned a lot this season from the seniors. Those guys know what's up. My goal is to leave Stanford basketball with the pride and dignity that they have left us with. It's been a pleasure and we will miss them.

Guard Mike McDonald

(On being the last tournament, last Stanford game) It's killing me. We were here to make it to the Final Four and it's amazing that it's over. It's amazing that I won't be playing with these guys anymore.

(On Maryland offense) Their guys shot great tonight. Their guys outshot us. Tonight we played 75 percent and they played 100 percent. Baxter had 20 some points. We tried our hardest.

(On Lonny Baxter) We saw him score a lot of points against Georgetown. I don't think he dominated, but he did shoot well.
