STANFORD, Calif. – Former Stanford standouts Rosco Allen and Landry Fields will join the 2015-16 NBA Finalist Golden State Warriors for the NBA Las Vegas Summer League, the franchise announced on Friday.
The duo will be coached by fellow former Cardinal star Jarron Collins, who is an assistant coach for the Warriors.
Golden State will play a three-game schedule before participating in a tournament-style format in the NBA's Las Vegas Summer League, which begins Saturday, July 9.
Allen, who earned First Team All-Pac-12 honors this past season, received his undergraduate degree in science, technology and society in June.
The National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District selection led Stanford in scoring (15.6 ppg) and minutes (34.1 mpg) with the Cardinal in 2015-16. He ranked fifth in the Pac-12 Conference in scoring (16.8 ppg) during league action, and ninth overall. He finished 13th in the conference in rebounding, averaging 6.5 rpg. Allen ranked ninth in the Pac-12 in three-point field goals (1.9 per game). The forward recorded a three-pointer in 23 consecutive games, before having his streak come to an end in the regular-season finale at Arizona (March 5). He averaged 17.1 ppg over his final eight contests of the season, and averaged 12.0 points in the second half alone, over his final six games.
Allen played in 97 career games with 60 career starts for the Cardinal. He was limited to just one game due to injury as a sophomore during the 2013-14 season. Allen scored 811 career points, with an 8.4 ppg career scoring average.
Fields enjoyed a standout career with the Cardinal from 2006-10, before being selected by the New York Knicks with the 39th overall pick of the 2010 NBA Draft. After averaging 7.1 points and 3.7 rebounds through his first three years combined, Fields broke through for one of the best seasons in school history as a senior in 2009-10. Named to the USBWA All-District Team and NABC All-District 20 First Team, Fields was also selected to the All-Pac-10 First Team as a senior in 2010.
Ranked eighth in the nation in scoring (22.0 ppg) during the 2009-10 season, Fields was Stanford's first Pac-10 scoring champion since Casey Jacobsen in 2001-02. In addition to leading all Pac-10 players in 20-point games (21), double-doubles (13) and minutes played (36.3 per game), Fields nearly snagged the league rebounding title, finishing second (8.8 per game) to USC's Nikola Vucevic (9.4 per game). Fields also led the Cardinal in free throws and attempts (179-257), blocks (25) and steals (51). Fields was also tabbed the 2009-10 Pac-10 Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Fields played two seasons for the Knicks, starting 143 of 148 games played and averaging close to 10 ppg in his first two years in the NBA. He signed with the Toronto Raptors prior to the 2012-13 season and played three seasons with the Raptors. Fields was limited by injury during the 2014-15 campaign and did not play in the NBA this past season.
Allen and Fields join fellow former Cardinal standout Chasson Randle, who is playing with the New York Knicks in the NBA's Orlando Pro Summer League.
