ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands – The United States men's pair, with Stanford rowers Jovanni Stefani and Brennan Wertz, captured the bronze medal in Friday morning's A Final at the Under 23 World Rowing Championships.
The pair, with Stanford's Craig Amerkhanian as their coach, raced down the Rotterdam course in 7:02.040 to place third behind first-place Serbia (6:58.010) and second-place France (6:59.440) on Friday.
Stefani and Wertz qualified for Friday's A Final by winning their heat earlier in the week with a time of 6:41.050 in the middle of a downpour.
The Cardinal duo, who are both 19 years-old, competed on the Mercer Lake course in New Jersey to qualify for the Under 23 World Rowing Championships in July.
