Turner Garners Pac-12 Accolade

STANFORD Calif. – Stanford senior forward Megan Turner was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for games from September 5-11 the conference announced Tuesday.

The award is the first of Turner's career and Stanford's 53rd all-time weekly honor.

Turner produced the first two-goal performance of her collegiate career in the Cardinal's 2-2 draw with No. 20 Notre Dame on Sunday. She scored on each of her two shots, once in the 27th minute and again in the 57th minute, and put Stanford ahead with both.

Turner also assisted on her team's first goal in its 4-1 rout of No. 10 Minnesota on Friday and is tied for the team lead this season in both goals (4) and points (10), totals which are already career highs for the forward just seven games into her senior campaign.

Stanford (6-0-1) moved up to No. 1 in the NSCAA rankings released Tuesday. The Cardinal hosts Santa Clara on Friday, Sept. 16 at 5 p.m. on Pac-12 Bay Area.
