Called to Duty

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford is well-represented at U.S. Women’s National team camps with seven members participating in camps across four age groups.

Kelley O’Hara and Christen Press were called to the full women’s national team camp, Andi Sullivan and Jane Campbell are attending the U-23 camp, Alana Cook and Jordan DiBiasi took part in the U-20 camp, and Michelle Xiao will participate in the U-19 camp.

O’Hara and Press were part of a group of 26 players participating in the first training camp of 2016, which leads into the first match of the year against the Republic of Ireland on Jan. 23 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The duo continue their time with the full national team after playing in last year’s 2016 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The team began training at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California, on Jan. 5 and complete training on the 21st of the month.

Sullivan and Campbell will be in Carson for training from Jan. 18-25 and conclude with a match against the full women’s national team from the Republic of Ireland on Jan. 25.

Cook and DiBiasi were among a group of 26 players who began preparations for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a training camp in Los Angeles from Jan. 3-10. The duo looked to secure spots for the World Cup which will take place from Nov. 13-Dec. 3.

Xiao will travel to Lakewood Ranch, Florida, from Jan. 23-30 for the U-19 camp. All players in the U-19 group will be eligible for the team that will participate in the 2016 U-20 FAFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea.
