STANFORD, Calif. - The 18th-ranked Cardinal will put its six-game winning streak and unblemished conference record on the line this Sunday as it travels to face Pacific, the top-scoring team in the nation for a 2 p.m. tilt.
Last Week with Stanford Field Hockey
• No. 15 Stanford continued dominating its conference slate of games with a 3-2 shootout thriller at Cal before blanking the NCAA's top-scoring team of Pacific 3-0 at home on Sunday afternoon. The shootout was Stanford's first since October 26, 2008 when it defeated Pacific 2-1.
Lions and TIGERS and... well, Tigers
• Against the Pacific Tigers, Tara Danielson has dominated - holding an 11-1 record against them. Of those eleven wins? Six were shutouts - including last Sunday... with Pacific ranked #1 in the NCAA in goals per game.
The Tigers aren't just some sleepy kitties though as they've put up a 9-4 record and are still currently ranked first in the NCAA in Assists Per Game (5.31) and Goals Per Game (5.23)
Game of Numbers
• 73 - Consecutive games (over 5 years) that the Cardinal have allowed three or less goals (last was No. 1 UNC 11/10/12)
• 4 - Freshmen that have played in every game
• 48-11 - Career record in home matches for Danielson
• 74 - Winning percentage Danielson has in her tenure at Stanford
Varsity Spells Victory
• Most teams like to play at home in the comfy confines of their own stadium. The Cardinal LOVES Varsity Turf. Under head coach Tara Danielson, Stanford has a home record of 48-11 - an incredible 83% winning percentage.
