For Cardinal and Country

STANFORD, Calif. – Andi Sullivan and Jane Campbell were selected to the full U.S. Women's National Team camp, as announced Thursday by head coach Jill Ellis.

The duo is part of a 24-player group selected to the camp as the U.S. prepares for a pair of matches against Switzerland in Sandy, Utah, (Oct. 19) and Minneapolis (Oct. 23). Ellis will select 18 players for the roster for each match.

"The Stanford team and coaching staff are very excited about Jane and Andi's selection to the U.S. Women's National Team," said head coach Paul Ratcliffe. "They deserve the opportunity and we are happy to see all of their hard work and dedication is paying off. Representing the U.S. Women's National Team is the highest honor in soccer and we are very proud of Andi and Jane."

Sullivan and Campbell are two-of-three collegiate players selected to the October camp. BYU forward Ashley Hatch also earned an invitation. It is the first official call-up to the full national team for Sullivan and second for Campbell.

Campbell earned her first selection in January of 2013 when she was 17, becoming the youngest goalkeeper ever called into a full U.S. national team camp.

The duo will join former Stanford players and U.S. National Team regulars, Kelley O'Hara and Christen Press, during camp. Sullivan and Campbell continue an impressive line of Cardinal players to spend time with the full national team, including O'Hara, Press, Nicole Barnhart, Rachel (Buehler) Van Hollebeke and Julie Foudy.

Sullivan, a MAC Hermann Trophy candidate, is having an outstanding junior campaign and is tied for the team lead in points with 12 on four goals and four assists. Her leadership, defense, distribution and ability to attack with pace makes her a unique centerpiece. Sullivan is an elite defender with a blistering shot from distance and shoulders a majority of the free-kick and corner kick responsibilities.

Sullivan has a wealth of U.S. Youth National Team experience, competing at the 2014 FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup and the 2012 FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup. She captained the U.S. U-20 team to the CONCACAF championship as the youngest player on the roster when she was 18-years-old.

Campbell, the reigning Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year, is in the top-five in Stanford history in nearly every major goalkeeping category. She has logged the most minutes of any Cardinal keeper all-time, is third in shutouts (32) and saves (196), and fifth in goals-against average (0.63). Campbell has a knack for making spectacular sprawling saves in big moments and is relied upon to be a key distributor out of the back for the Cardinal.

Campbell joins Alyssa Naeher and Ashlyn Harris as goalkeepers called in to camp.

The pair will leave for the U.S. training camp following Stanford's Oct. 14 game at Oregon State.
