Five Sign with Cardinal

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford head coach Jason Borrelli and his staff have signed five promising high school seniors to wrestle for the Cardinal starting next season, headlined by three-time state champions Haydn Maley (Roseburg, Ore.) and Dalton Young (Nine Mile Falls, Wash.).

"We are very excited to welcome five young men to the Stanford wrestling family today," said Borrelli, who is in his ninth year at the helm of the program. "A huge part of our recruiting objective is keeping the best talent home on the west coast, while also extending our recruiting  branch in to the wrestling rich regions out east. We accomplished just that with this class "

Joining Maley and Young as a part of Stanford's incoming class are Steven Abbate (Tracy, Calif.), Anthony Le (Laguna Niguel, Calif.), and Dom Mandarino (Paramus, N.Y.).

"Dalton Young and Haydn Maley both will seek their fourth state titles this winter in Washington and Oregon, respectively, and Dom Mandarino has been a staple in the national rankings during his prep career in the state of New Jersey. Adding two other rising stars from California to the mix in Steven Abbate and Anthony Le, has us very excited about our program's future."
