STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford women's swimming and diving officially welcomed the Class of 2021 on Friday. Brooke Forde, Abby Gardner, Katie Glavinovich, Lauren Green, Hannah Kukurugya, Mia Paulsen, Lauren Pitzer, Ashley Volpenhein and Grace Zhao will all join the program next season as announced by head coach Greg Meehan.
"This is a very exciting day for our program and these nine young women," Meehan said. "I know I speak for Patrick Jeffrey and Tracy Slusser when I say how delighted we are that our team gets to benefit from having these amazing scholar-athletes join our program next year. As a class, they have already created a synergy amongst themselves that I'm looking forward to seeing develop over time.
"With every signing day comes a reminder of how much work our staff and these women have put in to make this possible. This year is certainly no exception and I applaud Tracy and her efforts to make this all possible. This is the biggest class we've signed during my time on the Farm and they are really representative of what our program is all about - having fun, working hard, doing things the right way and being successful in the classroom and the pool."
The seven incoming freshmen hail from five different states. Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Texas are all represented while two are from the Bay Area in Green (San Jose) and Zhao (Palo Alto). Diving recruits will be added to this class soon.Brooke Forde
