SHANGHAI, China – A career night for Reid Travis opened the Jerod Haase era for Stanford with an 80-70 win over Harvard at Mercedes-Benz Arena.
Travis scored the first two points of the game en route to a double-double. The Minneapolis, Minnesota native posted career-highs in points (24) and rebounds (17) to lead the Cardinal.
It total, five Stanford players were in double-figures as Michael Humphrey scored 15 points and Marcus Allen, Dorian Pickens and Grant Verhoeven all finished with 10.
The Cardinal, playing in its third international trip during the regular season in the 102-year history of the program, shot 46.3 percent from the field and held a 42 to 36 advantage in rebounds over the Crimson. Ten of Stanford's boards were on the offensive end.
Stanford tallied 14 fast-break points, had 12 second-chance points and scored 40 of its 80 points in the paint. The Cardinal led 30-28 at the half.
Bryce Aiken led Harvard with 21 points, while Siyani Chambers added 12 points and Henry Welsh chipped in with 11 points and six boards.
Playing in the first neutral-site game of the series, Stanford is now 10-0 all-time against Harvard.
The Cardinal returns to The Farm for its home opener against CSUN on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks.
