STANFORD, Calif. – Andi Sullivan and Maddie Bauer are among 15 collegiate players named Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy semifinalists, as announced Tuesday by the organization.
It is the fourth time in program history Stanford has had multiple players named semifinalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy, awarded annually to the best women's collegiate soccer player in the country, and is the first time since 2012.
It is the second straight year Sullivan has been named a semifinalist and the first honor for Bauer, who becomes the 12th Stanford player to earn recognition in program history.
The co-captains helped lead Stanford to its second consecutive Pac-12 title and an 18-2-1 record – the team's 11th consecutive season with 15 or more victories. The Cardinal has won six of the past eight conference titles.
Sullivan, a management science and engineering major, had a career year with the Cardinal and was the only collegiate player in the country called into multiple senior U.S. Women's National Team camps during the season, making four starts with the team.
Sullivan registered career highs and led Stanford in points (29), goals (11) and game-winning goals (4). She was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year and earned All-Pac-12 first team honors for the third consecutive season.

Andi Sullivan scored the game-winning goal at California to clinch Stanford's second straight Pac-12 title.
Bauer, an international relations major, started every game at center defender in 2016 and helped Stanford register nine shutouts and limit opponents to 0.79 goals per game. She anchored the Cardinal's defense that held opponents to one goal or fewer in 73-of-88 games during her career.
Bauer is a two-time NSCAA All-Pacific Region first team and four-time All-Pac-12 selection, including being named to the first team in 2016. She is a 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-American and a 2015 NSCAA Scholar All-American – the only Pac-12 player named to either of those teams. Bauer was also named a 2016 Senior CLASS Award Top-30 finalist.
Maddie Bauer started at center defender in 88 of a possible 91 games during her career.
The Cardinal is one of four women's programs to have multiple representatives. Stanford men's soccer defender Tomas Hilliard-Arce was selected as a semifinalist on the men's side, making the Cardinal the only school in the country to have semifinalists for both awards.
The 15 semifinalists for the 2016 MAC Hermann Trophy were determined by All-America voting conducted by NCAA Division I women's soccer coaches with oversight from the NSCAA NCAA Division I Women's Senior College All-America Committee.
The three finalists, including the recipient of the 2016 MAC Hermann Trophy, will be determined by voting conducted by NCAA Division I women's soccer coaches combined with a fan vote conducted on MACHermannTrophy.org. The three finalists will be announced Dec. 14.
The winner will be announced at the Missouri Athletic Club banquet in St. Louis, Missouri, on Jan. 6.
