STANFORD, Calif. – Elise Cranny led a group of 10 Stanford runners named to the Pac-12 All-Academic cross country team.
Cranny, a six-time All-America, was the only Stanford runner among men or women to earn first-team honors, with teammate Danielle Katz named to the second team. The Stanford men had four named to the second team – Steven Fahy, Grant Fisher, Jack Keelan, and Sean McGorty.
Garrett Sweatt and Sam Wharton were honorable mention choices for the men, and Vanessa Fraser and Abbie McNulty for the women.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or older, must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average, and compete in at least half the team's races.
Fisher, McGorty, Sweatt, and Fraser earned the distinction of earning All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Academic honors in the same season.
This is the third Pac-12 All-Academic cross country honor for Sweatt and the second for Fahy, Keelan, McGorty, Cranny, Katz, and Fraser.
