Men's Water Polo

Senior Day

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 6 Stanford men's water polo hosts No. 4 Pacific Saturday at 10 a.m. PT on Senior Day at Avery Aquatic Center.

The program will honor its two seniors, Adam Warmoth and Kyle Weikert in special ceremony during the match.

Weikert has totaled 26 goals in his career, including nine this season for the Cardinal. He had a pair of scores each against Santa Clara, Pepperdine and San Jose State earlier this year. Weikert has scored six games overall this season. The Cardinal is 6-0 in matches he has netted at least one goal in. A management science and engineering major, the senior is a two-time Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) all-academic honoree. The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) also recognized Weikert on its all-academic squad last season.

Warmoth has recorded 25 career scores, including seven this season. The redshirt senior posted two goals in the win over Chapman in September. He has scored in six games overall this season, recording single goals against San Jose State (both matches), Long Beach State, Santa Clara, Pepperdine and last time out against UCLA. A three-time ACWPC all-academic honoree, the engineering physics major is also a two-year member of the MPSF all-academic team.

The Cardinal is 12-4 overall, coming off a 7-6 setback at No. 1 UCLA last Saturday. All four of Stanford's defeats have come to top-seven teams in the top-ranked Bruins, No. 2 USC, No. 4 Pacific, and No. 7 UC Santa Barbara. Three of those matches were decided by one goal (7-6 to UCLA, 7-6 to UCSB, 9-8 to Pacific).

The sophomore duo of Blake Parrish (36) and Mitchell Mendoza (29) continue to lead the Cardinal in scoring. Junior Cody Smith has posted 27 scores this season, with at least one goal in each of the last five contests. Parrish ranks third in the MPSF in scoring with a 2.25 goals-per-game average.

Junior goalie Oliver Lewis posted seven saves last time out against UCLA and is averaging 10.3 stops per match this season.

Pacific enters the week 15-5 overall. The Tigers defeated Long Beach State, 12-11, last Friday. They will face UC Santa Barbara at home on Friday night prior to Saturday's contest against the Cardinal.

Following Saturday's match, Stanford will travel to Berkeley to face California on Saturday, Nov. 12, in the regular-season finale.
