Thatcher Competes at Worlds

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford diver Cameron Thatcher competed at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships this past weekend in Kazan, Russia.

Thatcher, a freshman from Powell, Ohio, represented the United States in two events, the 3-meter synchronized and the mixed team event, consisting of two males and two females.

Competing with Texas freshman Grayson Campbell in the 3-meter synchronized final, Thatcher finished ninth with a score of 278.46. In the mixed team event, Thatcher teamed up with Campbell, Tarrin Gilliland and Maria Coburn (295.65) to finish sixth.

Thatcher is set to compete at the USA Diving Winter National Championships in Columbus, Ohio from December 15-21. The championships will be used to select the United States roster for the 2017 World  University Games, 2017 FINA Grand Prix meets and the 1-meter spot for the 2017 World Championships.
