STANFORD, Calif. – The fourth-ranked Stanford women’s squash team concluded regular season play Sunday in New Haven, Connecticut by posting a 4-2 record against six opponents during the three-day Yale Round Robin.

The Cardinal lost to third-ranked Princeton and sixth-ranked Yale by 7-2 scores, but knocked off 10th-ranked Dartmouth (8-1), eighth-ranked Cornell (6-3) for the first time in five years, 11th -ranked Williams and ninth-ranked Drexel (8-1).

“Nobody plays multiple matches on a weekend like we do,” said head coach Mark Talbott, whose team improved to 11-4.

Talbott was pleased with the play of his team and said both defeats were hard-fought.

“Either could have been 5-4,” he said.

Among the standouts for Stanford was sophomore Tatyanna Dadabbo from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, who went undefeated in six matches at No. 7 singles. Freshman Tara Shannon from Calgary, Alberta, Canada and sophomore Christie Huchro from Scarborough, New York compiled 5-1 marks at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

The Cardinal return to Yale for the season-ending CSA National Championships, known as the Howe Cup, Feb. 26-28. Talbott expects Stanford to be placed in the top eight division and to be seeded fifth or sixth.
