STANFORD, Calif. – No. 18 Stanford will compete at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional on Saturday, April 2, at 3 p.m. (PT), where it will pursue a bid to the NCAA Championships.
It is the 33rd consecutive season the Cardinal has advanced to the NCAA regional competition.
Joining the Cardinal in Ann Arbor, Michigan, will be top-seeded Auburn, and (in order of seeding) Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Penn State and New Hampshire. The top two teams in the regional competition will receive a berth to the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas.
The top two all-around competitors and each event winner not on a qualifying team will also receive a bid to the national championships. The top 36 teams in the country based on their regional qualifying score, earned spots at the regional competition.
Stanford is ranked 18th in the nation and will face three top-25 opponents in its regional including No. 6 Auburn, No. 7 Michigan, No. 24 Eastern Michigan.
The Cardinal has advanced to the NCAA Championships in eight of the past nine seasons and 12 of the past 15. Stanford has won five regional titles and 45 individual championships in its 38-year history.
