GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The synchronized swimming team moves into the final day of competition Saturday in the Collegiate National Championships.
Stanford received many strong performances Thursday in preliminary routines. Clare McGovern finished second in the solo free with a score of 79.9333, while Sandra Ortellado and Erica Slavin tied for first with Ohio State in the duet free, both recording totals of 82.2000.
In trio free routine, the Cardinal placed first and second. McGovern, Ortellado and Slavin combined for a score of 82.2333. Teammates Marisa Tashima, Amanda Urke, Evelyna Wang and (r) Isabella Park took second at 81.8667.
Two Stanford groups will compete in the team free routine final: Rachel Hyon, McGovern, Ortellado, Park, Slavin, Tashima, Urke and Wang, along with Elle Billman, Gillian Brassil, Madeleine Duboc, Dylan Harding, Rina Horii, Joanna Langner and Shiree Lee.
