Conference Slate Begins

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 12 Stanford returns to action this weekend as it readies for an eight game slate of MPSF action. Up first, the Cardinal host Denver at 7 p.m. on Friday and Colorado Sunday at noon.

The Cardinal (6-2) is coming off of having its six game winning streak snapped after topping No. 19 Johns Hopkins in an overtime thriller 10-9 only to be stopped in its tracks by No. 14 Stony Brook 17-7.

Stanford is still showcasing its offensive power in the NCAA as its tied for second in draw controls per game (15.00) a No. 7 ranking in scoring offense (13.75), No. 12 in scoring margin (4.88) and free position percentage (.543).

Kelsey Murray has come out of the gates hot this season as she finds herself ranked in the NCAA in assists (95th), assists per game (60th), free position goals per game (64th), goals per game (124th), points (129th) and points per game (72nd).

Allie DaCar has also been a force to be reckoned with in the cage as well as she ranks in all three categories for goalkeepers: save percentage (19th), saves per game (28th) and saves (51st).

In the series history against Denver the Cardinal owns the lead with an 18-8 record with its last meeting against the Pioneers resulting in a 14-7 Stanford win. Mackenzie Tesei claimed four goals in the win with Lucy Dikeou with the hat trick.

Against the Buffs of Colorado, Stanford holds a 2-1 record all-time. In its last meeting, Stanford traveled to Boulder, Colo. to top Colorado 16-14. Alex Poplawski scored a career-high five goals in the game.
