All-American Honors For Ho

NEW HAVEN, Ct. – Junior CC Ho from Belmont, Massachusetts won her flight in the B Draw to garner second-team All-American honors on Sunday at the CSA National Squash Championships in New Haven, Connecticut.

Ho finished the season ranked 17-20 in the individual national rankings, and was one of four Stanford student-athletes from the women’s team to reach the quarter or semifinals. Also advancing were sophomore Sarah Bell, fifth-year senior Maddie Gill and freshman Tara Shannon.

Ho, a computer science major, trailed 7-3 in the fifth and deciding game. She rallied to take a 10-7 lead, then prevailed, 13-11.

“I’m really happy for her,” said head coach Mark Talbott. “It was a great battle.”

Stanford finished the 2015-16 season ranked No. 6 in the country. Of his top 10 players, all but Gill return next year and Talbott has a strong recruiting class coming in.

“I think we’re definitely going to move up in the rankings,” he said.

Stanford had no home matches this season and traveled more than any team in the country. That will change in 2016-17, when Yale and Penn come to The Farm. Talbott is also hoping to schedule at least one more East Coast opponent.

“I’m very excited about the future,” Talbott said.
