STANFORD, Calif. – Two program firsts await the Stanford Lacrosse team Monday as it sets to face California for the first time in Stanford Stadium, the home of Stanford football. In addition, the Cardinal will also take to the field in support of One Love, an organization that works with young people across the country to raise awareness about the warning signs of abuse and activate communities to work to change the statistics around relationship violence.
The Cardinal will move from its regular venue, Laird Q. Cagan Stadium, to Stanford Stadium for the game which is set for 5 p.m. and will be aired live on Pac-12 Networks. Fans are asked to enter the stadium through Gate 12 with seating available in sections 131-135 in the lower bowl. Signage as well as guest services representatives will be available to assist fans.
Meeting for the 36th time in program history, the Cardinal holds a 29-7 record over the Cal Golden Bears. Coach Amy Bokker holds a perfect 11-0 record against the Bears with the program also holding an 11 game winning streak.
In partnership with One Love, Stanford student-athletes are working to change the statistics around relationship abuse. Stanford will host an Escalation Workshop, a powerful, emotionally-engaging 90 minute film based workshop that educates communities about relationship violence and empowers work for change. The workshop is set to be held on Tuesday, April 12 from 7-9 p.m. in Kissick Auditorium in the Arrillaga Family Sports Center. For more information on One Love, please head to joinonelove.org.
