Pac-12 Challenge

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford men's rowing will host the 2016 Stanford Invitational and Pac-12 Challenge Saturday and Sunday at Redwood Shores.

The two-day event will be Stanford's first competition at its home course this season. For directions to Redwood Shores, click here.

Stanford will face Wisconsin, Santa Clara and Hobart over the two days. The Cardinal will open the regatta at 9 a.m. PT on Saturday, as its second varsity eight will face Hobart. The varsity eight race between Stanford and Hobart will be at 9:20 a.m. PT. The Cardinal's third varsity eight will face WSU at 11:40 a.m. PT.

Saturday's afternoon session pits Stanford against Santa Clara, beginning with the second varsity eight race at 1:40 p.m. PT. The Cardinal and Broncos will clash in the varsity eight at 2:10 p.m. PT, followed by the third varsity eight race at 4 p.m. PT. 

Stanford will face Wisconsin on Sunday morning, beginning with the second varsity eight race at 9:20 a.m. PT. The varsity eight race between the Cardinal and Badgers will be at 9:40 a.m. PT. Stanford will conclude the weekend at 11 a.m. PT, facing Wisconsin in the third varsity eight race. 

The Stanford lighteight program will also compete in the Stanford Invitational/Pac-12 Challenge, facing Humbolt at 12:20 p.m. PT. 

The Cardinal varsity eight is No. 16 in this week's USRowing coaches poll. Wisconsin is right behind the Cardinal, checking in at No. 17 in this week's poll.

In its last action, Stanford placed fourth in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and third varsity eight Grand Final races at the San DIego Crew Classic on April 3.
